Since 1988, the Foundation has grown its permanent, unrestricted
endowment to more that $2.4 million. Unrestricted funds allow the
Foundation to respond most readily to emergency situations or
unanticipated needs. Donors leave decisions on the charitable uses of
the fund to the overall membership of the Foundation.
Membership with the Okoboji Foundation is achieved
upon making a contribution of $5,000 or more in a lump sum or a pledge
over a period of time. Members are provided with an opportunity to
give input on grant recipients and to vote on grant awards.
Donors may also chose to create customized donors' funds or
to make planned & deferred gifts to the Foundation. Should you
choose to make a deferred gift, please direct bequest and beneficiary
designations to: Okoboji Foundation, a fund of the
Minnesota Community Foundation.
