In 1988, an Endowment fund was created with a vision to facilitate
projects in the Iowa Great Lakes Region which are not fulfilled by
government or for-profit enterprises.
In 2006, the Okoboji Foundation hosted a Community Visioning process - its purpose was the review 'who we are', consider 'what we aspire to', and plan 'how we are going to achieve it'.
In 2007, we brought the 'Dare to Dream' video to the community as an invitation for deeper involvement in this special place.
In 2008, the Foundation followed up on that collaborative, introspective study by bringing community members together for 'Dream Sessions' to more specifically suggest BIG IDEAS that would challenge collaboration and enhance our community.
