Membership Annual Meeting
  • In May of 2003, the Foundation held 'Philanthropy Day' at the Lakes Art Center. The goal for this event was to increase the visibility of local non-profit organizations, so that the general public would be more aware of the work these organizations are doing and in hopes that potential donors might choose to make their charitable gifts locally. An additional component of this event was to provide both potential donors and the non-profits with a greater understanding of the 'Power of Endowments.'
  • Two membership "focus group" meetings were held at the Lakes Art Center in late May and early June of 2004. These meetings were well attended and provided members with an opportunity to brainstorm for new project ideas. They also recognized the variety of positive impacts -- through funding assistance given to various community betterment project -- the organization has had on the Iowa Great Lakes Area.
  • Additionally, the Okoboji Foundation holds its Membership Annual Meeting each August.
